1. Estudos estruturais e termodinâmicos de centrinas BeCen1 e BeCen3 do fungo Blastocladiella emersonii / Structural and Thermodynamics Studies of Blastocladiella Emersonii Centrins

2. Regulação da expressão gênica por oxigênio no fungo aquático Blastocladiella emersonii / Regulation of gene expression by oxygen in the aquatic fungus Blastocladiella emersonii
In this work we analyzed global gene expression changes in the aquatic fungus Blastocladiella emersonii submitted to oxygen deprivation (hypoxia), using cDNA microarrays containing 3,773 distinct genes. In gradual hypoxia (gradual decrease in dissolved oxygen concentration, followed by reoxygenation) and direct hypoxia (direct decrease of dissolved oxygen co

3. Differential gene expression during Blastocladiella emersonii sporulation and analysis of the cyclic GMP signaling pathway / Expressão gênica diferencial durante a esporulação de Blastocladiella emersonii e estudo da sinalização por GMP cíclico

4. Globlal gene expression analysis during germination of the aquatic fungus Blastocladiella emersonii / Análise da expressão gênica global durante a germinação do fungo aquático Blastocladiella emersonii
We conducted large scale cDNA sequencing from libraries obtained using RNA from germinating cells of the aquatic fungus Blastocladiella emersonii. Data obtained in this work, along with cDNAs from sporulating cells, lead to the discovery of nearly 4.900 different genes from B. emersonii (Ribichich et al., 2005). The putative genes were annotated and associat

5. Analysis of gene expression in response to cadmium and heat shock in the aquatic fungus Blastocladiella emersonii / Análise da expressão gênica em resposta ao choque térmico e cádmio no fungo aquático Blastocladiella emersonii
In this work we realized a large scale, sequencing program of cDNAs libraries obtained from mRNA of B. emersonii cells submitted to heat shock and cadmium stress. A total of 6350 high quality expressed sequence tags (ESTs) were obtained, representing 2326 unique putative genes (unigenes) of this fungus. From these putative unigenes, 1282 genes were classifie

6. Expressão gênica diferencial durante o desenvolvimento e na resposta ao choque térmico em Blastocladiella emersonii / Differential gene expression during development and in the heat shock response in Blastocladiella emersonii
Usando incorporação \"in vivo\" de 35S metionina tradução \"in vitro\" de RNA e eletroforese bidimensional, iniciamos um estudo do controle da síntese de proteínas durante duas fases distintas de diferenciação celular, a esporulação e a germinação, do fungo Blastocladiella emersonii. Durante a esporulação ocorre uma intensa variação no padrã

7. In Vitro Ribonucleic Acid Synthesis in the Zoospores of the Aquatic Fungus Blastocladiella emersonii
The zoospores of Blastocladiella emersonii posses three ribonucleic acid polymerases. No general or specific inhibitor for the enzymes were found in the protoplasm of the spores.

8. Partial Purification and Properties of d-Glucosamine 6-Phosphate N-Acetyltransferase from Zoospores of Blastocladiella emersonii
A d-glucosamine 6-phosphate N-acetyltransferase from Blastocladiella emersonii zoospores was partially purified to a specific activity of 2.41 IU per mg of protein. Its pH optimum was 8.05 and its Km values were 2.4 × 10−4 M d-glucosamine 6-phosphate and 0.38 × 10−4 M Na3S-acetyl coenzyme A.

9. Cyclic AMP binding proteins and cyclic AMP-dependent protein kinase from Blastocladiella emersonii.
The stoichiometry of cyclic AMP binding protein to cyclic AMP in sporulating cells of Blastocladiella emersonii and the resistance of protein-bound cyclic AMP to enzyme-catalyzed hydrolysis suggest that the distribution of cyclic AMP between free and protein-bound pools is an important factor in cyclic AMP metabolism. Most but not all of the cyclic AMP bindi

10. Zoospore Germination in Blastocladiella emersonii: Cell Differentiation without Protein Synthesis?*
Evidence is presented to suggest that several early events of zoospore germination in the water mold, Blastocladiella emersonii, are not dependent upon concomitant protein synthesis. The events involve abrupt, dramatic changes in cell architecture. On account of this evidence, as well as evidence available from other sources, we question whether differential

11. Characterization and Submitochondrial Localization of the α Subunit of the Mitochondrial Processing Peptidase from the Aquatic Fungus Blastocladiella emersonii
In an effort to investigate the molecular mechanisms responsible for the drastic morphological changes the mitochondria go through during the life cycle of the aquatic fungus Blastocladiella emersonii, the gene encoding the α subunit of the mitochondrial processing peptidase (α-MPP) was isolated. Nucleotide sequence analysis revealed that the predicted α-
