1. Growth and accumulation of nutrients in papaya tree seedlings grown on organic substrates
ABSTRACT The use of organic waste for the production of plant substrates is an important environmental and economic alternative. In this perspective, we performed a work in a greenhouse, with the aim of evaluating the effect of substrates from organic waste during growth, gas exchange and accumulation of mineral elements in ‘Sunrise Solo’ papaya tree see

2. Sensitivity of forage turnip to the herbicide tepraloxydim
ABSTRACT The objective of this study was to evaluate the responses of Raphanus sativus to the application of the herbicide tepraloxydim by analyzing photosynthetic and biometric characteristics of the plants. The experiment was conducted in a greenhouse and treatments were instituted when the plants had five expanded leaves. The herbicide tepraloxydim was ap

3. Climatic signal in a radial growth of Canadian and Maximovich poplars in south-western Poland
ABSTRACT: The main goal set by researchers in this article was to gather knowledge on the structure of the basic biometric features of tree-rings of two species of poplars, belonging to different sections of Aegeiros – Populus xcanadensis and Tacamahaca – Populus maximowiczii, and to define and understand the correlation between weather and annual increm

4. PAPAYA SEEDLING PRODUCTION UNDER DIFFERENT SHADING LEVELS AND SUBSTRATE COMPOSITIONS
ABSTRACT Papaya is characterized as one of the most important crops in Brazil. Thus, good quality seedlings are essential for formation of orchards in agricultural production. This study aimed to evaluate shading levels and substrate compositions for production of papaya seedlings. Growing environments were evaluated with 0, 18, 35, and 50% shading and subst

5. Relationship between fetal biometric assessment by ultrasonography and neonatal lamb vitality, birth weight and growth
Abstract Ultrasonographic examination of pregnant ewes can enable the identification of perinatal abnormalities and establish prenatal assistance responsible for minimizing morbidity and perinatal mortality. Therefore, we aimed to evaluate the feasibility of a fetal biometric analysis by ultrasonography to predict neonatal vitality and lamb growth during the

6. Effect of Thymol on Soybean Seeds Germination: Physiological and Biochemical Analysis
Abstract Higher levels of reactive species of oxygen are harmful to plant tissues. This study evaluated the action of different doses of thymol on soybean seed germination, biometric analysis and enzymatic parameters; both involved in germination process. High doses of thymol affected the plantlet growth, but not hampered the germination.

7. YIELD AND BIOMETRIC CHARACTERISTICS OF MAIZE SUBMITTED TO PLANT POPULATION AND TRINEXAPAC-ETHYL DOSES

8. New Approaches to Fetal Growth Restriction: The Time for Metabolomics Has Come

9. Biometric parameters of adult and growing Pêga donkeys
ABSTRACT This study aimed at establishing the morphological characteristics and morphometric indexes of Pêga donkeys, utilizing 47 animals, of which 22 were adults and 25 were growing donkeys. Prior to taking their measurements, the animals were restrained and made to stand squarely. The morphological data were measured, and the following morphometric index

10. BIOPHOTONICS: ACCLIMATION OF PRE-SPROUTED SUGARCANE SEEDLINGS IN PROTECTED ENVIRONMENT
ABSTRACT Sugarcane is considered one of the main alternatives for biofuel production and an important product of Brazilian agriculture, so it is indispensable to adopt new techniques for its cultivation and management. Thus, the present study aimed to evaluate the effect of the quality of supplemental lighting, based on light-emitting diode (LED), on the acc

11. Effect of calcium fertilization on silver vase bromeliad (Aechmea fasciata)
