25. Obesity and insulin resistance: molecular, biochemical and ultra-structural adaptations. / Obesidade e resistência à ação da insulina: alterações moleculares, bioquímicas e estruturais.
The possible causes of increased mortality and morbidity associated with obesity have been focused by many studies that attempt to understand the metabolic syndrome, characterized by various metabolic disorders such as insulin resistance, hypertension and dyslipidemia. Thus, the aim of this study was to verify the possible mechanisms responsible for developi

26. Avaliação bioquímica e do consumo alimentar de magnésio em mulheres saudáveis no terceiro trimestre gestacional / Biochemical and food evaluation of magnesium in healthy women in the third trimester of pregnancy
Magnesium (Mg) is an intracellular ion, an essential co-factor for over 300 enzymatic reactions, involved mainly in energy (ATP) generation. Its deficiency has been associated to complications during pregnancy such as preeclampsia, eclampsia, restriction to intrauterine fetal growth and fetal mortality. So, this observational cross-section study aimed to eva

27. Monitorização terapêutica da olanzapina em pacientes esquizofrênicos / Therapeutic monitoring of olanzapina in schizophrenic patients
The olanzapine is an atypical antipsychotic drug used to treat schizophrenia. How adverse effects related to its use, are obesity, hyperlipidemia, diabetes mellitus type II and hypertension, may result in the development of metabolic syndrome. This study aims to carry out monitoring therapy in patients in treatment with olanzapine, establishing a possible co

28. Genetic variants of N-acetyltransferase 2, CYP2E1 and Glutathione S-transferase: relation with therapeutic safety in patients with tuberculosis / Variantes genéticas da N-acetiltransferase 2, CYP2E1 e glutationa S-transferase: relação com a segurança terapêutica em pacientes com tuberculose
Polymorphisms in N-acetiltransferase 2 (NAT2), CYP2E1 and glutatione S-transferase (GST) have been associated with differences in response to antituberculosis drugs. The role of the NAT2, CYP2E1 and GSTM1/GSTT1 variants on safety profile of the anti-tuberculosis therapy was evaluated in 99 tuberculosis patients, without co-infection by HIV or hepatitis virus

29. Evaluation of enzymatic potential of filamentous fungi isolated from different sources / AvaliaÃÃo do potencial enzimÃtico de fungos filamentosos isolados de diferentes fontes
Enzymes are protein macromolecules responsible for the acceleration of the chemical reactions that maintain and regulate living organisms. They occur in nature and can be from vegetable, animal and microbial sources. Due to high industrial demand the microbial sources are the most used. The filamentous fungi compose the group of microorganisms with highest n

30. Uso do laser de C O IND. 2 ( lambda =10,6 mu ) na prevenção da carie e erosão dentarias : estudos in vitro / Use of C O IND. 2 laser ( lambda =10,6 mu ) on dental caries and erosio prevention : in vitro estudies

31. Modelagem matemática da degradação da glicose, com produção de hidrogênio, em um reator anaeróbio de leito fixo / Mathematical modeling of glycose degradation with hydrogen production in a fixed bed anaerobic reactor
Mathematical models bring benefits to the understanding of mechanisms involved on wastewater treatment processes because they provide interpretations and make possible performance predictions, evaluation of design alternatives, optimization of future plants or the improvement to existing systems. Therefore, in this work a mathematical model to describe the g

32. Estudos estruturais do domínio GTPase isolado da septina humana SEPT4 e estrutura cristalográfica da Glutationa -S- Transferase de Xylella fastidiosa / Structural Studies of the GTPase domain from human SEPT4 and Crystallography Structure of Glutathione S-transferase from Xylella fastidiosa
The septins are a conserved family of guanine nucleotides-binding and hetero-filament forming. proteins. In mammals they are involved in a variety of cellular processes, such as cytokinesis, exocytosis, and vesicle trafficking. SEPT4 has been reported to accumulate in tau-based filamentous deposits and cytoplasmic inclusions in Alzheimers and Parkinsons dise

33. Effect of the Administration of the Potassium Phosphate in the Calcium Serum Concentration in Rats (in vivo) / Efeito da administraÃÃo do fosfato de potÃssio na concentraÃÃo sÃrica de cÃlcio em ratos (in vivo)
The evidences demonstrate that the inorganic phosphate increase is strongly associated with the weakness of the contractile mechanism, due to attractiveness with the ion calcium liberated by the sarcoplasmic reticulum and the formation of the calcium phosphate. Experimental studies related to the effect of the inorganic phosphate reacting with ion calcium, u

34. Biochemical and molecular characterization of the Leishmania spp. telomerase reverse transcriptase component / Caracterização bioquimica e molecular do componente transcriptase reversa da telomerase de Leishmania spp
Telomeres are protein-DNA complexes that protect linear chromosomes from degradation, providing genomic stability. The telomeric sequences are G-rich and contain a 3 single-stranded region that protrudes toward the chromosome end. In Leishmania, the telomeric DNA is composed by the conserved 5 -TTAGGG-3 repeated sequence and it is replicated by telomerase. T

35. Aspectos do envelhecimento cerebral e função cognitiva em modelo experimental animal e estudo de mecanismos de neurodegeneração em cultura celular
The two phenomena, biological and behavioural, approached in the present work are brain aging and spatial memory. Several studies, comparative and experimental, have shown that aged subjects present significantly impaired performances in different types of cognitive tasks. It is also known that contradictions in literature exist in relation to consequences o

36. Enterotoxemia em bovino
This report describes a case of bovine enterotoxaemia in Morro da Garça, Minas Gerais, Brazil. Clostridium perfringens type D was isolated in pure culture and was characterized by biochemical reactions and PCR. By the mouse neutralization test, the presence of epsilon toxin from intestinal content was detected.
