13. Characterization of TiCN thin films deposited by Dc-Pulsed PACVD using methane precursor
Titanium carbonitride (TiCN) thin films were deposited on hot-work steel (DIN 1.2606) by plasma-assisted chemical vapor deposition (PACVD) and the influence of different CH4/ (CH4+N2) gas flow ratio, on the layer mechanical properties, were investigated. SEM studies indicated that the growth rate is decreased by increasing the CH4/ (CH4+N2) gas flow ratio. I

14. Cold vapor atomic absorption spectrometric determination of cadmium after solid phase extraction on modified TiO2 nanoparticles

17. Generation of an Atomic Beam by Using Laser Ablation for Isotope Separation Purposes
Abstract: Atomic vapor laser isotope separation has been studied at the Institute for Advanced Studies for nuclear purposes since 1982, and recently it has been questioned about its potentialities for the aerospace area. Many applications from nuclear propulsion to electricity generation and space navigation have been found, which justify the study of isotop

18. Organic and total mercury determination in sediments by cold vapor atomic absorption spectrometry: methodology validation and uncertainty measurements
The purpose of the present study was to validate a method for organic Hg determination in sediment. The procedure for organic Hg was adapted from literature, where the organomercurial compounds were extracted with dichloromethane in acid medium and subsequent destruction of organic compounds by bromine chloride. Total Hg was performed according to 3051A USEP

19. Estudo experimental da refração não linear em vapor de césio utilizando a técnica z-scan
The z-scan technique consists in measurement of the variation of the radial intensity of a Gaussian laser beam induced by self-focusing or self-defocusing while propagating through a nonlinear medium. These variations are deduced through detection of the beam transmitted through a small, fixed aperture. After the seminal work by Sheik-Bahae et al. [30] in 19
