RESUMO
The dissertation maps the culture of the favelas, greatly expanded during the 90´s, focusing on their artistic manifestations. Through the works of three authors, Carolina de Jesus, Paulo Lins and Luiz Paulo Corrêa e Castro, we explore the concept of favela literature and identify a binary typology (favela-inferno / favela-idílio) in the literary production that dialogues with the favela.
