RESUMO

The increasing mobilization around the ambient subject has provoked in the human being a true behavior revolution. People in the entire world had started of giving more attention to life quality and, in consequence, changed its habits and customs in a way of becoming its habitat each time more pleasant. Such concern reed-echo economically and socially in the societies, mainly the capitalist ones, where the valuation of "Having" if salient to "Being" and the governments were forced to unite economic development with environment and, thus to convoke the diverse segments of the society to present common multidiscipline proposals, that they propitiated an efficient solution for the problem. This work focusing was the urban solid residue know as plastic, that due to its properties, allowed the most varied applications what read it to a vertiginous proliferation in the dismissible packing and transforming segment transforming it in one of the main targets for environmentalists, for representing 15% in the composition of the urban solid residues. However, the same properties that transformed it into an "environmental problem", propitiated the return to the productive process, by economizing energy, a no renewable natural resource, oil, besides generating job and income. Thus, this study was developed since the generation of the residue and arriving at a proposal of economic and social viability inside of the requirements for the sustainable development
