RESUMO

In the actual competitive scenery, full of external variables and doubts, the decision-making should not be based on the common sense or intuition. Aiming to be adapted to those circumstances, companies from different areas have been adopting management actions to contribute to the success of the use of its sources in order to reduce costs, get rid of loss, increase the productivity and guarantee the success of business. Through this context, we are going to focus on the systematic management models. The civil construction industry, specially the building subsection, has taken an important position for its great management, which is focused on the continuous improvement of the achieving of customerâs needs. In this way, the implementation of quality of management systems, occupational security and health, has been coherent to the needs and particularities of the sector. However, taking into account the economics perspective at the present time and the material needed for the creation of those systems, we need to evaluate its role and purpose related to the real competitive gains. The procedures related to the evaluation of the effectiveness of those management tools and the following critical analysis can occur. The project focuses on working on a methodology for evaluation, through development, management systems of quality, by itself or integrated to occupational security and health systems indicators, pointing to the global performance and key processes of micro and small building companies. With the purpose of validating the proposal in practical terms and analyzing the effectiveness of the presented system, we went through the study of case in a small construction industry whose job takes place in a local area.. At last, we could notice that the management systems provide the development of the mentioned sector with a significant power. Otherwise, they need trusting methodologies, able to identify the weak and strong aspects of the system, pointing the improvement needs and contributing to the decision-making and the coordination of the management actions
