Uma abordagem histórico-filosófica na educação matemática : contribuições ao processo de aprendizagem de trigonometria no ensino médio

RESUMO

The aim of this research was the construction process of a historical-philosophical approach through a historical reconstruction of Trigonometry, in which we carried through a documental research on the basis of History of Mathematics textbooks, particularly those that deal with the History of Trigonometry. We used a qualitative methodological approach, in which we aimed to investigate the construction of a didactical sequence, grounded by a historical-philosophical reconstruction of the Trigonometry topic which embraces specifically the study of trigonometric functions, that may assisst the high-school student in his learning. We have introduced a philosophical approach by combining it with an axiological discussion, composed by a set of cognitive values of Science, applied in Mathematics Education. To regard the aims of this research, we applied the activity by means of a didactical sequence, also based on the Research Methodology named Didactic Engineering, to high-school students of a public school in the city of Londrina, PR. We conclude that the constructed approach proved to be effective for the learning of Trigonometry, making possible the expression of the cognitive values of Mathematics in our didactical sequence and its embodiments to the student?s knowledge.
