Um modelo de seguranÃa para o canal de interatividade do sistema brasileiro de TV Digital: arquitetura e implementaÃÃo

RESUMO

Digital TV makes possible the digital convergence, that corresponds to the intersection of Media (audio and video), Computing (data processing, execution of applications, etc.) and Communication (data transmission through a communication network). Besides the improvement on the audio and video quality in respect to Analog TV, Digital TV brings the possibility of executing applications that can access Internet, like e-commerce and home banking applications, for example, bringing the need for protecting the information that is sent by these applications, e.g., a credit card number. This work, developed as part of the Brazilian Digital TV System, specifies a security model for the interactive channel of Digital TV, considering the processing and storage constraints on the Set-Top Box (STB), the device responsible for receiving, decoding, storing and processing data and applications sent by the Digital TV network, and for the Internet access as well, usually done by using a modem inside the device. An implementation of this model is also presented, to show the feasibility and reliability of the model.
