Um estudo das obras sacras de Benedito Calixto

RESUMO
The aim of the present work was to perform a study of the sacral painting of Brazilian painter Benedito Calixto de Jesus (Itanhaém, 1853; São Paulo, 1927). Therefore, a catalogue of your all-sacral painting was done. It included technical details, localization, previous knowledge, exhibitions, paintings of reference and publication of studied paintings. Furthermore, the study brought up the biography of painter, where either sacral or the more important non-sacral painting were mentioned, its award and its main exhibitions. In addition, this study showed: a critical itinerary of painting of Benedito Calixto and your artistic trajectory and an analyze of the sacral artistic trajectory of this painter in the design art panorama of Brazil. By this analyze, it could be observed that there are, at least, two different period of artistic trajectory of Benedito Calixto, the first period was the construction of the Priest José de Anchieta iconography and the second was the decoration of the important catholically churches, mainly those located in São Paulo State, BR.
