RESUMO
Since men started to use the technology of writing, they have in many ways invested in the attempt to inscribe poetry - understood in its broadest sense of oral verbal art - beyond gemes. The resulting forms are varied, as it can be observed in the brief history of oral tale editing in Brazil presented here: transcriptions, adaptations, recreations, translations, transcreatíons, stylizations. Discrete and open infidelities. Intersemiotic, intralingual, interlingual translations, transluciferatíons. All these forros of inscribing oral poetry, from the most rigorous attempts of fidelity to the freest translations, are here considered as results of translating and editing processes, both taken in their broadest sense, comprising poiesís, creation and construction. The professionals of writing (researchers, tale writers, novelists, poets, editors and revisors) use technological media to apprehend voice: pencils, pens, typewriters, printers, tape recorders, video-cameras, computers. The task of capturing voice is here considered impossible, as it is itself a translating task - at least inasmuch as the translating process is thought as a way of reproduction, based on the criterion of fidelity. Nevertheless unstranslatability does not avoid translating attempts, as long as they are based on transposition approaches. In this study an intermedia translation is presented, as a book and a CD-ROM. It is a translation of an oral role network, which was woven from the narration of "O Burraiero e a Fia do Rei", recorded vvith the story teller Joaquim Soares Ramos in Vale do Jequitinhonha, northern Minas Gerais
