RESUMO
This study had, as a general purpose, compare the general cognitive assessment, the higher cortical functions and the scholar performance before and after a training of solution problems in children diagnosed with the Disorder and Hyperactivity of Attention Deficit and also had as specific objectives: characterize age, sex and education of the patients that arrive at the Clinic of Neuro-learning Disabilities with primary complaint of inattention and hyperactivity; evaluate the cognitive aspects of higher cortical functions and scholar performance of children with ADHD, compare the cognitive evaluation of higher cortical functions and scholar performance before and after a training of solution problems; evaluate prospectively by means of data obtained in the neuropsychological assessment before and after training. The study included 13 children who composed the GP, with an average age of 9 years old and 08 children who composed the GC, with an average age of 9,2 years old, a total of 21 children diagnosed with ADHD. The materials used for neuropsychological assessment pre and post-training were: term of free and informed consent, WISC III, TLN-C, TDE, Trail Making Test and TCLP; for intervention, 04 meetings were conducted with the parents in order to guide and 10 sessions with the child in order to work the executive functions. The results found that 64.45% of the assessed children had a confirmed diagnosis of ADHD, mostly male with an average age of 9 years old, in relation to the cognitive performance. Both groups were within the average IQ, with better performance in verbal activities than in execution ones; in relation to the factorials indexes, the GP showed improvement after the training for solutions of problems in processing speed when compared to GC, the GP showed a better performance after the training in subtests of similarities, arithmetic and digits. In the assessing of higher cortical functions, the GP showed an improvement after training in memory; in the scholar performance, it showed an improvement for the series in reading and writing and in relation to age in reading; in relation to attention, the GP had revealed a decrease in the number of errors and an increase in the time of completion of the activity
