RESUMO

This paper intends to collaborate with the activity of design thinking, presenting importants aspects and the limitations of an ecological emphases on the courses. Often debates in relation to the production of a concrete culture have emphasized the need of a suitability for the environmental parameters, wich makes projection of products. That happens because of a new perspective wich visualizes the aceleration in the exploration of natural resources as something incompatible with the humam development. Questions about this have increased as a consequence of the perception that there is destruction in global levels and has being spread and emphasized as an issue concerning to all nations and as something that needs mutual effort for a positive performance. To evaluate the situation of environmental matters in the teaching of industrial design, a poll was made among the schools in the state of Rio de Janeiro,identifying what has been done in the courses and what coordinators, teachers, and students think about it. It is an attempt to analyze and discuss questions about the influency of the literary speech about environment in the designers action: the importance of their action; the role of the educacional system; and detect some possible changes for an effective approach of the environmental parameters.
