RESUMO

This project has the goal to show the application of a method that supports the implementation of a Quality and Environmental Integrated Management System in plants of spare parts industries, based on ISO TS 16949:2002 and ISO 14.001:2004 standards. The approach of this study is to detail the main aspects of the integration process, considering the particularities of the Quality System requirements regarding spare parts industries. The author also tries to relate the main activities regarding the integration process, mainly the ones that add more value, as well as the most common tricks to be avoided, in order to guide future applications to similar models. In order to do that, it was performed a bibiographical revision regarding the integration concept, as well as the author?s experience on quality and environmental issues, because it is a very recent subject. After that, the method was validated at a medium size spare parts industry. Some important results have been reached, such as the partial integration of the Quality and Environmental Management Systems, as well as the Certification according to the ISO TS 16949:2002 and ISO 14.001:1996 standards. Regarding the Certification of the Environmental Management System, the transition project to ISO 14.001:2004 has now been performed the third implementation fase of the integration process
