The landscape as a study theme for the 5th grade of the basic education / A paisagem como tema de estudo na 5ª serie do ensino fundamental

RESUMO

The objective of this study is the construction of the landscape concept, from a sociocultural approach, for children between 10 and 12 years-old. As methodology, it is chosen the research-action. The teacher acts as mediating of the teach-learning process, making possible a dialogue between the previous concepts that the children bring with themselves and the geographic concepts that we intend to construct. With this material, we elaborate three categories for the agreement of the landscape: Environment Landscape (in which it has the predominance of the dichotomy Environment-Man), ?Bucólica? Landscape (in which we find the man in perfect harmony with the Environment) and Human Landscape (man and way in contrast, having the interference human being in a negative direction). Literal drawings, speeches and writings are analyzed before and after the pedagogical mediation, as well as dialogues, that had been transcribed during all the stages. It is understood, in a sociocultural approach, that the landscape, must be studied as a category of the present reality. It is known that to initiate the understanding of the present means to be capable to transform it
