RESUMO
This work analyses the institutionalization process of Anthropology in the National Museum at Rio de Janeiro between 1876-1939. Operating with continuities and discontinuities in the period, the research focuses on the political and institutional changes and intends to observe the development of scientific activity in Anthropology. It pretends to characterize this scientific practice, to recognize the scientists, to reconstruct the interchange networking between scientists and institutions, to know the issues and the questions they discussed and how they develop their research and build know how.
