RESUMO
The main problem of this work is the understanding the reasons for the long journeys of work by executives of success. To do this, it was necessary a previous study on the recent transformations in the labor market and the increase on competition. The first chapter deals with the issue of individual competition in the context of we call "social closure." The second is an attempt to unravel the "ethos" of the executive with help from Weber, Sombart and Schumpeter. The third is a study of recent changes in capitalism and the labor market. The fourth is an analysis of the so-called "Post-Fordism", the "Information Society" and "Employee of Knowledge." The fifth and last, is an analysis of narcissism as a social pathology
