RESUMO

: This work studies the time-variant behavior of the pressure drop obtained by development of a numerical model based on hydraulic transient equations applied to a pipeline rupture, as well as by a real-time data acquisition microcomputer system, connected to a pressure measurement device at the ends of the pipe. To the developed circulation model the Method of Characteristics was applied having as boundary conditions a reservoir upstream and a totally opened valve downstream the tube. The data acquisition system involves a pressure transmitter, which measures the pressure drop at two points in the ends of the pipe, an amplifier-conditioner signal circuit that adjust the exit signal to an adequate voltage range by charging its off-set and presenting a variable gain an analog-digital converter, which converts the analog signal coming from the circuit into a digital signal, a digital-digital converter that acts in a solenoid valve simulating the leakage and, finally, a microcomputer coupled with the data acquisition program, that processes the data. It was elaborated a sampled data filtration software which minimizes noises in normal fluid flow processes. Aiming a deep study of the phenomenon. The main parameters which directly affects the leakage, such as leakage ratio, Reynolds number and leakage position, ere changed in both methods...Note: The complete abstract is available with the full electronic digital thesis or dissertations
