RESUMO

Priming is a technique applicable to seeds of various plant species. However, for the soybean seeds there is restrictions for information that relates the priming to the use of fungicides. Thus, the objective of this research was to evaluate the priming of soybean seeds in water (hydropriming) associated with different times for the application of fungicides. For this purpose, they were used soybean seeds, cultivar MSOY 7908 (Screen 7), represented by three plots (1, 2 and 3). After characterization of seed quality in relation to physical parameters (water content and mechanical injury), physiological (viability and vigor) and sanitary, the following treatments were established: seeds, corresponding the control, hydropriming and dried, treated with fungicides carboxin + thiram and fludioxonil + metalaxyl-M, hydropriming with the fungicides carboxin + thiram and fludioxonil + metalaxyl-M embedded in water priming and dry, hydropriming, dried and treated with the fungicides carboxin + thiram and fludioxonil + metalaxyl-M and treated with fungicides carboxin + thiram and fludioxonil + metalaxyl-M, hydropriming and dry. To evaluate these treatments the seeds were analyzed in two times. The overall results of the analysis of this research showed that the hydropriming did not favor the normal amount of soybean seedlings obtained in normal germination test. However, the hydropriming benefits were observed in relation to seed vigor because this technique favored the first count of germination and germination under stress condition, such as the results of accelerated aging test. In addition, the analysis results also showed that the efficiency of hydropriming can be differentiated according to the quality of seed lots evaluated, since the seeds of lower quality (lot 2) were favored by priming. With respect to the fungicides used, in some of the results, it was found that fludioxonil + metalaxyl-M associated with hydropriming was not effective for the maintenance of seed quality and therefore should not be used for priming. The application of fungicides in soybean seeds is essential for the use of the hydropriming, the ideal time to maintain the quality of seed is the treatment before of the priming with the fungicide carboxin+thiran.
