RESUMO

The energy efficiency represents the oil consumption diesel of the locomotives multiplied by the load carried and the distance from one determined stretch. This is a subject little searched in the practical railroad, however is a subject of extreme importance. To improve the energy efficiency, actions can be taken in some levels: operational, technological, maintenance, act of receiving, control and supplying. This research analyzes the factors that influences the oil consumption diesel and the actions taken to minimize the consumption and to improve the pointer of energy efficiency and the results reached for such measures had been considered satisfactory implying in economy in the fuel consumption for 2007 and 2008 (until September, 2008). Considering the future, a comparative analysis was carried through enters the models of train with 330 wagons, the TD2B train implanted in 100% of the EFC in May, 2008 and TD3B train in experimental phase since August, 2008. This comparison informed a better efficiency to the fuel consumption for the TD3B train. Finally, a prognostic for the pointer of energy efficiency with TD3B trains in 100% of the railway (forecast for January of 2009) and the value of energy efficiency pointer diminishes of current 1.51 L/KTKB for 1,49 L/KTKB.
