RESUMO

A healthy lifestyle associated to physical activity habits and others cares about health seems to be related to better quality of life as well increase physics and mental health and productivity. The objective of the research was investigate the inter-relation between the perceived self-efficacy, lifestyle and cognitive performance of adolescents, both genders, active and non-actives. It is about a descriptive and correlational research that utilized for data collection the "Questionnaire of lifestyle and self-efficacy" adapted of Andrade (2001) with contains the Questionnaire of Habitual Physical Activities adapted by Nahas (2001) and the self-efficacy scale, translated and validated for this study. It was also utilized an inventory for evaluation of the multiple cognitive capacities, development for this study, based on the theory of multiple intelligences by Gardner (1994). The study was carried out in a public school of Southern of Brazil selected by convenience. The sample was composed by 216 adolescents, ranging in age between 14 and 19 years ( x = 16,2 1,1 years); classified in actives and non-actives, high and low self-efficacy and positive and negative lifestyle. The results presented that boys are more active and present highest self-efficacy than girls. Boys present highest bodily-kinesthetic capacity than girls and girls present highest logicalmathematical capacity than boys. Non-actives boys present highest linguistic capacity than actives ones and actives boys and girls present highest bodily-kinesthetic capacity that nonactives. Actives boys and girls present better lifestyle those non-actives. Actives boys and girls present better lifestyle than non-actives. Actives boys with high self-efficacy present better lifestyle that his peers with low self-efficacy. Active boys with positive lifestyle were associated with bodily-kinesthetic and logical-mathematics capacities. High self-efficacy and positive lifestyle associated at naturalist and logical-mathematics capacities and high selfefficacy and negative lifestyle associated with linguistic capacity between non-actives boys. High self-efficacy and negative lifestyle associated with linguistic capacity between active boys. It concluded that linguistic and logical-mathematics capacities relate with gender, habitual level of physical activity, self-efficacy and lifestyle, whereas the bodily-kinesthetic capacity relates with gender, habitual level of physical activity and lifestyle. The naturalist capacity relates with self-efficacy and lifestyle.
