RESUMO

The breathing way of each human being is revealing and the actor investigates vocal and corporal possibilities from the moment of rehearsals to theater play presentations Goal To describe from the Speech Therapy point of view an experience done with a couple of actors during the production of a play in which the main developed aspect was the breathing work in the theatrical scene Method Rehearsals and presentations were followed which breathing was a way for the construction of characters and scenes, totaling 14 meetings all registered in audio and video Out of these three moments were selected READING OPENING and PRESENTATION AFTER A MONTH of show and described in full or compared track by track in order to make questions about voice body and mainly breathing presented in both actors explicit Results and Discussion There are changes in breathing in aspects related to way kind and breathing rhythm according to each scenic situation which proves the expressive character in this function in the communication of an intention Rehearsal and presentation repetition made voice body and breathing more integrated to the meaning of the text and therefore as time went by the result shown was improved Conclusion The early periods of Speech Therapy gave bigger focus to breathing in its anatomical-physiological dimension When dialoguing in a more effective way in theater the conception to the same expressive element was started This research exposed that in spite of breathing way and kind thoracic frequency and expansion were modified by occasion of character development and that between pauses the increase of intensity and emphasis was present in the analyzed scenes This showed that breathing is a source to be worked with in the actors background in development and interpretation of his/her character
