RESUMO

This dissertation is a technical and interpretative study of Reminiscências Op. 78 for solo guitar by Marlos Nobre (1939). Based on stylistics aspects, the dissertation proposes technical and instrumental suggestions to minimize the specific difficulties - interpretative or technical - present in the piece. Information about the composer, his works for guitar and the sorts of popular urban Brazilian music (choro, seresta and frevo), which had served as the basis for the piece, has been included to contextualize it and to supply information that could be useful for new interpretations of this composition and others of Marlos Nobre. The production of a new edition of Reminiscências Op. 78 - including some corrections, new fingering and symbols representing the technical-instrumental procedures - is the concrete result of some questions raised in this dissertation concerning the interpretation. The aim of this new edition would be to facilitate the understanding of the piece to the guitarists that desire to study or to perform it.
