Programa social Berimbau de auto-sustentabilidade da Costa do Sauípe: avaliação do programa na comunidade de Porto de Sauípe

RESUMO

This work aims to evaluate the impact of the social program named Berimbau, developed at the Sauípe coast in the Porto do Sauípe community. The main focus was given to evaluation of a program with the purpose of mitigating the socio-environmental impacts caused by the installation of a tourism complex in the communities around it. The program evaluation was done following a qualitative approach, and from the perspective of its beneficiaries. This evaluation encompassed semi-structured interviews and questionnaires, related to the program and its beneficiaries in the community of Porto do Sauípe. This community was chosen because it was the one most impacted (both socially and environmentally) by the tourism complex. The research indicated that the program interventions are positive, mainly in the dimensions of job generation and income, and social inclusion. The program legitimation by the impacted population is another prominent factor.
