Programa mais educação : mais do mesmo? Um estudo sobre a efetividade do programa na rede municipal de São Luís-MA

RESUMO

The research aimed to investigate, initially, the Programa de Educação Integral Mais Educação Integral Educational Program More Education, as a mechanism to improve the academic achievement of children and adolescent. It has contributed to the production of data capable of supporting the local government to takes decisions about redirecting the investments for educational programs in São Luis-MA. Makes a retrospective of the experiences in integral education in the country highlighting the contributions of Anísio Teixeira and Darci Ribeiro placing the characteristics and theoretical fundamentation oh this new program. Identifies the profile of the participants, the activities that the surveyed schools offer, both for the education provided part-time, and the education offered on the counter-shift, characterized as integral education. Makes comparisons among the students enrolled in the two segments (partial and integral). Analyses what is offered to the students whereby is proposed in the Deployment Manual. Also, points the contributions of the of the Integral Education, as observed in the Program, object of this study, to the quality of the processes of teaching and learning. Investigates the performance of pupils participating of the São Luis municipal network Program More Educations, using one qualitative-quantitative approach, from a descriptive study. The data collection consisted of three instruments: A sociographic questionnaire, with mixed format; documental analysis; and semi-structured interviews. As a result of the research, it has been showed that the implementation of the Program More education does not show effective improvements on the students achievement, but also reveals that the problem of low results of the students pass through questions of planning and monitoring the educational processes.
