RESUMO

T he explosive growth of the number of the migratory population, without a doubt provoked an increase of people with risk of neurological and psychiatric illnesses in the city of Porto Velho, Rondônia. The study of the prevalence of the patients psychoses interned in the Psychiatric Clinic of the Hospital of Base Dr. Ary Pinheiro, between 1999 and 2004, I diagnosis it predominant the schizophrenia, standing out presentation of acute picture and recovery for complete. The profile of the population of the total of 187 patients, 96 was of masculine sex, these 83 was immigrants, 44 if 30 years, 75 found in the band of 21 were single, and being that the majority lived in the field or was dismissed. In relation to the feminine sex of the 91 interned women, 86 were immigrants, 31 in the atria band of 31 the 40 years, 50 were single and 70 had dedicated activities to the home. The depressive episodes described and had been argued in accordance with the Classification of Mental Upheavals and Behavior (CID-10) (WHO, 1993). Cases of typical episodes of discrete, moderate or serious depression, presented patient with degradation of the mood, reduction of the energy and reduction of the activity. Alterations of the capacity had been observed to try the pleasure, loss of interest, reduction of the concentration capacity, associate irritability or aggressiveness. Also it was seen problems of the sleep and reduction of the appetite. The treatment, generally, was one cocktail of medicines where it prevailed for the masculine sex, the carbamazepina (200 mg) in the period of 1999, haloperidol (5 mg) in 2000, 2001 and 2003 and the clorpromazina (100 mg) in 2002 and 2004; the picture for the feminine sex presented the prevalence of haloperidol (5 mg) in 1999 and 2004, the carbamazepina (200 mg) in 2000 and 2002, the clorpromazina (100 mg) in 2001 and carbolitium (300 mg) in 2003. For the women the tioridazina absent medicine in the recitation for the men, who had used the fenobarbital (100 mg) and fenitoína (100 mg), not prescribed for the feminine sex was prescribed. In 1999 it only had an extreme number of returns for the masculine sex, occurring the same in 2003 for the feminine sex.
