RESUMO

This research intends to investigate the question of "symbol intensity in organizations". Symbol Intensive Organizations (SIO) are environments where: (i) symbolic leadership is predominant as a managerial style; (ii) both leaders and those lead apply impression management techniques; (iii) managerial innovation is treated as a dramaturgical event; and (iv) symbolic analysts are prevalent within the work-force. This work looks for anecdotical and emperical evidences of this phenomenon.
