Percepções de médicos sobre o papel do pedagogo no trabalho com crianças hospitalizadas: o caso do Hospital das Clínicas da UFBA.

RESUMO

This study aimed to understand the social representations that paediatricians have about the work of the teacher in the hospital environment. The realization of this research was developed through a qualitative approach that was to guide the Theory of Social Representations. The data collection instruments used were participant observation and semistructured interview consisted of 32 questions. To carry out this research was used the valuable contribution of 07 subjects, five females and two males. After completion of data collection preceded the analysis of the material in light of the content analysis, which articulated the theory of social representations have sought to understand the way in which physicians share beliefs about the work of the teacher in the hospital. The representations are anchored in four categories, namely: facets of the teacher in the hospital and the social imaginary class hospital and educational work in the hospital, meet the education and health, humane, illness representation and rights of the child. The results pointed to the recognition by pediatricians around the educational service performed by the class teacher in the hospital as being essential in promoting health, the hospital class should not be configured as a space for transposition of the regular school, especially as regards the content, there are specific services provided in hospitalized children that take into account the age of the children and their specificities. These findings demonstrate that the class teacher and the hospital have an identity in the context of the pediatric ward with their assignment with the hospitalized child.
