RESUMO

The productive parameters of the three production pasture system irrigated based (S1, S2 and S3) in the finishing beef cattle were evaluated at South Brazil. The experimental period was from October, 2010 until September, 2011. The pasture growth (PG; KgDM/ha/d), forage accumulate (FA; KgDM/ha), stocking rate (SR; kgLW/ha/y), animal performance (ADG; kg/an/d) and animal production total (APt; kgLW/ha/y) were determined. The S3 showed higher PG (44.7kg) than the S1 (32.2kg) and S2 (26.9kg) systems. In addition, the lowest PG was observed in the winter season by all systems. The FA was 10,874kg, 8,905kg and 15,658 kg, to S1, S2 e S3, respectively. In the spring and summer seasons were showed more FA than the other two systems. However, in the S2 were observed higher PG (1,007 kg) and ADG (0.830 kg/d) than the first and second systems. The highest value to SR and ADG observed in the S2 result in the higher APt (772 kg LW) than the S1 (369 kg LW) and S3 (519 kg LW). The production forage seasonality decrease with the irrigation and resulted in the more stable animal production during the year. The productive parameters founded in this research showed the potential for intensification to the beef cattle system from the pasture by irrigation. However, there are the opportunities to improve the resource used and the management process in the systems evaluated.
