Os domínios do estado: a interventoria de Anthenor Navarro e o poder na Paraíba (1930-1930)

RESUMO

This work, which considers the events just after 1930s movement, intends to reconstruct the historical context of Paraíba state (Brazil) during 1930-1932 period. It analyzes Antenor Navarros intervenence (interventoria) in the scenery of wide changes that affected the Brazilian State, in a moment of redefinition of the power structures and of political centralization what were being undertaken by the group that climbed to the Power at 1930. Our research doesnt discuss 1930s movement in its theoretical interpretations; however, the historiographic approaches about that historical moment are presented throughout the arguments that organized our proposal. This study is arranged in order to perceive the political-administrative centralization of Antenor Navarros government (interventoria). Under the political orientations of the Federal State, that governor submitted the state administrative apparatus of Paraíba to this new order; therefore, politics, economy and state bureaucracy were reorganized, by the State and inside it, converging towards the centralization process. In a more specific level, related to Paraíba, such order was established since the administrative actions of João Pessoas government, what influenced Navarros intervenence (interventoria) in his own actions. In the context after 1930, it were discussed the restructuring initiatives of Paraíba state, from the point of view of the speech of the administrative morality, whose final purpose was putting the local oligarchies under State control. Yet, this work intended to investigate the policies against the 1932 drought, as a moment of such oligarchic rearrangement.
