RESUMO
The subject of this study is the description, the analysis and the systematization of the introduction to building characters, realized in the Free Theatre Course of the Universidade Federal da Bahia from 2004 to 2007 when the author of the present dissertation acted directly conducting the actors training process of this course. The initial hypothesis suggests that the basic formation process enables its participants to achieve concrete contribuitions to the especific perception that involves the theatrical interpretation practice. This hypothesis is valuded by the evidence that through the exercises pratic the student-actor is allowded to get in direct touch with both technical and artistic trainings. The starting point of this dissertation is an historical retrospective of the activities of the Curso Livre de Teatro da Universidade Federal da Bahia trough the last third years (1979 2009), wich bases its present practice. Afterwards, it is presented the methodology applied to the exercise of constructing a character. From that, it is done an analysis of the various aspects that the exercise offers to the actor training. The investigation is subscribed, though, in theoretical and pratical perspectives, wich have been worked simultaneously during the research process. The theoretical frame has as its primary source the writings of Constantin Stanislavsky, since his psychophysical motivation system has been taken as the axis of this presented process.
