RESUMO

The objective of this research was to verify of the levels of obesity, physical activity and feeding habits in children from public and private school in AnÃpolis â GO. Were valuated 1982 scholars, 1260 were from public schools and 722 were from private schools. The prevalence of overweight and obesity was bigger over private schoolsâ students, with 18,55 % of overweight and 6,65 % of obesity. The scholars of from public schools had 10,31% of overweight and 4,04% of obesity. The results also showed that the boys schools from public have bigger overweight and obesity than girls from private schools, and while girls from private schools have bigger overweight and obesity than the boys schools from public. Comparing these results with other researches, the time inside the school and the level of physical activity, were the factors that influentiated on overweight and obesity in scholars, and the food habits on this research werenât a influence. The students from public schools showed to be more active than the students from private schools, on what concerns the level of physical activity. And when these students were compared between the Sex, the boys showed to be more active than girls from both schools are. The biggest part of the students showed to have insufficient feeding habits. In the end, believing on the results showed in this research, that some proposes and implementations of projects and programs, by the part of government, of social and family organizations, schools, to give a better space to the health professional to develop prophylactic activities, turned to the conscience of what benefits that an active life style of children may have on their lives. To prevent the obesity seems to be the best way and it is believed that if something becomes a habit, it needs to be worked since an early age.
