RESUMO

through the analysis of its three key elements: the actor, the city and the audience. This paper proposes a recovering of the street theatre practice in Santa Catarina by researching the career of two local collectives: Grupo Gralha Azul and Grupo Menestrel Faze-dô, both from the city of Lages-SC. The work is divided in three chapters to present each group s history and the different approaches to street theatre making. The first chapter describes Lages from its founding to the decade of 1970, when Grupo Gralha Azul came up to the scene. This chapter presents the city s history as well as the beginnings of that collective. The second chapter focus on the career of Grupo Menestrel Fazê-dô, active during the 1990s in Lages. The final chapter establishes connections between both groups, examining the differences and the similarities in terms of their practices. This chapter also presents the concepts of theatrality and imaginary linked to street theatre experiences, analyses testimonials from the audience and describes each collectives poetics
