O Parlamento Brasileiro : 1823-1850 : debates sobre o tráfico de escravos e a escravidão

RESUMO
This work is concerns about debates in the Parliament of Brazils Empire of the slave trade and the slavery from 1823 to 1850. The slavery does not come to be a main issue from the discussions of deputies. It traces a lateral social question as the slaves revolts and defined the Brazilians citizenship connected to political discourses. The slaves work, in fact was not questioned and suffered a little criticism. The image of the slaves was associated to wildness and barbarism, ideas of the Enlightenment in the eighteenth century. The issue of the slave trade meantime, was hard debated in the Parliament. It was reinforced by English points and many discussions happened about the citizenship, civilization, morality and national sovereignty these are an essential aspects for the consolidation of the Brazilian State. At the slave trades debate focus in the defense of the agrarian interests from traders of slaves and the traders as a general rule.
