RESUMO

This study aims at analyzing the structure of the courses offered at the Landless Movements (MST) camp sites with special focus on the courses of the National School Florestan Fernandes (ENFF). The ENFF was launched in January 2005 and represents a synthesis of the 23 years of activity of the Landless Movement in the Brazilian political scenario. The main objective is to train new members not only for the Landless Movement itself but also for participants of different social movements in the country and in Latin America. The ENFF is responsible for centralizing all the methodologies developed by the MST schools and also by the Landless Movement in association with other Brazilian universities. The analysis include Marxs writings on the concepts of work, capitalism and alienation. We can identify that there is a direct relation between work and educational practices aiming at accumulating capital/resources. The proposal of the Landless Movement goes in opposite direction from this hegemonic perspective. This dissertation will also analyze the structure of the political courses created by the MST based on Gramscis work. Authors such as Gramsci envision a new type of political culture with special emphasis on socialism. Therefore the Landless Movement and in particular the National School Florestan Fernandes value an ethics opposed to the growing individualism of modern society emphasizing on solidarity instead
