RESUMO
The aim of this present study is to compare Beto Brants film O Invasor (2002) and Rogério Sganzerlas film O Bandido da Luz Vermelha (1968) analyzing transgression in Brazilian cinema. Based on its appearance in the cultural, aesthetic and sociological theory, a concept of transgression is studied in cinema. The research aims to revise the manifestations of transgression in the history of the Brazilian cinema, pointing Brant and Sganzerlas films as marks of transgression of their times: Cinema da Retomada and Cinema Marginal (decade 1960). Through the evaluation of the reception of the critics about the films in articles published at the time of their release, the two productions are finally unified in a filmic analysis that joins image, outlaws, transgression and context.
