RESUMO

This present dissertation is a product of the research named, The Educational Environment: a social-historical study of the relations between education and technology, developed in the structure of the Mastership in Education of UFMS. It is originated from the possibility of reflection around pertinent subjects to the topic, it is resulting from debates in classroom, as a teacher of Computation Applied to Education. The research includes a reflection about the social imaginary concept that comes from the principle that the social relations are always socially instituted, symbolized or ratified. The theoretical support has as objective to unveil these relations in the social-historical ambit, as well as to talk to the field work, once that the ideal of the teacher is essentially social and historical. It was used a bibliographical research and explorative studies through structured interviews with teachers of our region, inserting the data with the concepts of technique and technology in the social-historical context. The study shows that the educational environment, at a historical perspective, has always been related to the technique and technology, but such relation is conditioned to the social signification of each period. Nowadays this imaginary signification, observed at the teachers point of view, directs the educational environment as a public space in the sense of democratizing the access to the digital technology on behalf of the citizenship.
