RESUMO

With the objective to evaluate the response of alternative beans cultivars to levels of nitrogen fertilization, four field experiments were carried out in the south (Lavras), midle west (BambuÃ) and north (Mocambinho e JaÃba) regions of the Minas Gerais State, Brazil. The statistical design was randomizing blocks, with three replications and a 4x5 factorial arrangement, involving four bean cultivars (Radiante, Ouro Vermelho, Bolinha and Jalo) and five nitrogen doses (0, 30, 60, 90 and 120 kg ha-1) urea source. Were evaluated the final stand and the grain yield with its primary components. In the south and midle west regions, the grain number per pod and the weight of one hundred grains had not been influenced by the N doses. At Lavras country, where the environment was less limited, the increase of the N doses at planting reduce the final stand, but it raised the pod number per plant and the grain yield, this last until the 60 Kg ha-1 de N. At Bambuà country, where it had greater pluvial precipitation, these effects had not been observed. In the north region, the increase of the N doses raises the pod number per plant, but reduces the bean plant population, not influencing the grains yield. The Radiante cultivar surpasses, in grain yield terms, the other cultivars, but all the four constitute good options for beans production diversification in the north region of Minas Gerais State, Brazil.
