RESUMO

Nhandewa aywu is a phonological study about the Nhandewa-Guarani language, spoken by indigenous communites in São Paulo and northem Paraná states. This text has two sections: The Ethnic Group Nhandewa-Guarani and the Nhandewa-Guarani Language. In the first one, I discuss on Nhandewa name, history and dialectal features, furthermore to consider the religious nomadism and the route as far as the actual territorial fixation. The second is a linguistic one and has three chapters: the first presents the phonetic inventory and proposes a phonological interpretation; the second deals with a discussion about the interpretation proposed some lives above and the fundamental oppositions of the language; the third analyses two phonological relevant process in the language: the nasal harmony and the glottal fricative /h/ elimination.
