RESUMO

The growing global concern with the issue of greenhouse effect gases, and the need for use of electricity in isolated regions serves as a spur to development and dissemination of technologies for decentralized generation of electricity with clean and renewable sources. This work focuses on methodologies and tools for design of hybrid energy systems and demonstrates the application with a real project. The approach adopted involves a technical-economic evaluation of a hybrid system for the generation of energy. The technical evaluation includes simulations under quasi-static held hourby- hour to verify the operation of the hybrid system in the period of one year. The simulations are conducted using the program computational Hybrid2, developed at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. A precise characterization of renewables, the site under study, whether it is necessary to determine the behavior daily, monthly and annual resources. The demand is estimated from information collected at the site for the cargo installed, the habits and customs of use of energy and the anticipation of increased cargo. Still, the methodology presented the definition of the criteria for the ideal configuration of component-wind turbine, photovoltaic modules, diesel generators and battery-to meet the estimated demand for the system. Also, this work was developed a tool for economic evaluation based on accurate economic model of Hybrid2, which includes information and forms of calculation used in Brazil. The economic evaluation counts the cost of capital in the system, the costs and operating expenses of the system, in addition to the operating revenues and taxes increased by interest and inflation. Finally, it is submitted application of the methodology and analysis tool for the design of a hybrid system for the Town of Sucuriju, a community of fishermen located on the banks of the river Sucuriju in the state of AmapÃ. The results of simulations of various possible configurations of hybrid systems were evaluated in terms of the consumption of diesel oil, interruptions of supply of energy, too much energy, number of hours of operation of the diesel generators and contribution and life of the bank of batteries. While the economic evaluation of settings was based on the following parameters: net present value, cost of generating energy, the return period simple and internal rate of return
