RESUMO

On the uses of language in the social and educational context, the social relations and the discursive practices are present and has their meaning extended by the transformations and the social changes. In this way new demands and skills appear to deal with the multiple languages in different social groups. In this context, literacy shows up as the subject of the proposed research when considering that the construction of the social identity is taken as a constant and dependent process of the discursive accomplishment. This approach tries to identify, based in a textual production of the students in the courses of read and write for young persons and adults, its meanings and the promises of literacy, built the identity of these students in different contexts of literacy and ideological aspects that is in the text. The theoretical basis adopted were, for Literacy, Street (1984, 1995, 2001), Barton (1994), Barton, Hamilton &Ivanic (1994), Heath (1983), Vieira (2002, 2003), Kleiman (1991, 2003), among others; for the Critical Discourse Analysis, Fairclough (1989, 1992a, 1992b, 1995, 2001, 2003), Chouliaraki e Fairclough (1999), Pedro (1998) and van Dijk (1997, 1999); for Identity, Woodward (1997), Hall (2005), Giddens (2002), Coracini (2004) and Lopes (2002, 2003); and for Ideology, Althusser (1974), Thompson (2002), Fairclough (1992a) and van Dijk (1997, 1999). The methodological procedures adopted are based on the approach of the qualitative research by Flick (2004), Bauer e Gaskell (2003), Gill (1996) and Chiazzotti (2000) and for the categories, Thompson (2002), Lakoff e Johnson (2002) and Fairclough (1992a, 2003). By analyzing three texts, I looked for aspects related to the ideology with the following ways of its operation, according to Thompson: legitimation and fragmentation; for the study of the identities, I analyzed the vocabulary (Fairclough, 1992a) and the metaphors (Lakoff &Johnson, 2002). As far, I conclude that the analysis of different practices of literacy in their contexts, with basis on the marks of the textual production, reveals the association between speech and its accomplishment as social practice and show the marks of the articulated speeches in its different accomplishments and the effectiveness of the ideologies that underlies the context and the discursive practices. Therefore, this study will contribute with a new and wider perspective to rethinking adult and young persons literacies in their different contexts.
