RESUMO

The interaction between lectin from jackfruit and glycoproteins that compose the acquired pellicle in vitro lllas studied by poliacrilamide gel electrophoresis, double-difusion in . agarose and immunoelectrophoresis. Human sa 1 i va was incubated with hydroxyapatite for 2 hours at room temperature under continous agitation and then eluted in O,2M phosphate buffer pH 6,8 and in the same buffer at 1,OM. The supernatant and the eluted proeins were analysed electrophoretically and tested by double difusion against lectin from jackfruit and anti-IgA goat serum. At the same time immunoeletectrophoresis of human saliva anti-IgA I serum and lectin from jackfruit (IJere performed. The results Ishowed that IgA is present in the proteins that comp.ose the acquired pellicle in vitro and that the lectin from jackfrui t . reacts with salivary glycoproteins that have affinity for the hydroxiapatite in vitro
