RESUMO

Foia dos Rocêro was a weekly periodical newspaper which circulated through Bahia state between the end of the nineteenth century and middle of twentieth century. It was written using language from rural areas aiming to disguise its political intentions. Such camouflage allowed the newspaper editor to make frequent use of metaphors and pseudonyms in order to publish critical writings concerning not only the rulers of nineteenth century Bahia but also the difficulties Bahia district was going through, since it wasnt the Brazilian capital anymore. Foia dos Rocêro not only brought news from remote places but also stories and curiosities which were told in the old Bahian capital. More than often, these stories involved great personalities of the time. Using this document, this work intends to present the transcription of Bertulameu and Prexedes section, which bring a conversation between two contrymen, and a description of the grammar verb agreement phenomenon. This linguistic tool was used by the newspaper editor to disguise the political satirical remarks and denounce the abuse of power by Bahian public authorities.
