RESUMO
The aim of the present study was to survey the influence of endodontic irrigants on the adhesion resistance of adhesive systems to human dentin, after the degradation of adhesive interface and morphologic analysis of adhesive interface for Scanning Electronic Microscopy SEM. Sixty molar thirds were selected. The deep dentin was exposed removing and ground the oclusal portion. The specimens were irrigated with sodium hypochlorite 2,5% for 30 minutes followed by EDTA 17% for 5 minutes. Subsequently, teeth were divided randomly in six groups (n=10) accordingly to adhesive system applied: G1 and G2 Clearfil (Kuraray); G3 e G4 - Single Bond 2 (3M) e G5 e G6 - XP Bond (Dentsply). After adhesive system application, a composite resin Z100 (3M) was built up created. The degradation of the adhesive interface was realized by storage the specimens in deionized water and thermocycling: 24 hours of deionized water storage/no cycle (groups G1, G3 and G5) and 6 months storage in deionized water/12.000 cycles (groups G2, G4 and G6). After pre-established periods of each group, the systems tooth/resin were sectioned in order to obtain 4 sticks of approximately 1mm2, which were subjected to microtensile bond strength test. The morphologic analysis of interface was performed for SEM. Results were analyzed with ANOVA and Tukey test to level 5%. Significant difference between adhesives was verified (p<0,01). The water storage (6 months) coupled with thermocycling (12.000 cycles) did not affected significantly the resistance to microtensile bond strength of the dentin (p<0,05). The conclusion is that dentin irrigated with NaOCl and EDTA presented less resistance to microtensile bond strength when XP Bond Adhesive system was utilized. The interface degradation through water storage and thermocycling had no effect on the resistance of the dentin bond, independently of the adhesive system applied.
