RESUMO

The objective of this work is the development of a Proportional-Integral-Derivative (PID) temperature controller, which uses a microcomputer developed in the Laboratory for Instrumentation of the IFGW-UNICAMP. This controller was tested an electric furnace which resistive heating. The system achieves a precision 0.3 ºC at a temperature of 900 ºC. Two interfaces were developed. The first interface to read the thermocouple signal, the second one to control the power delivery to the heating element. Application programs have been developed in FORTRAN IV and ASSEMBLER (Assembler for the Z80)
