RESUMO

When investigating the photographic representations of Virgílio Calegari, wich have Porto Alegre as theme, we verify that they carry a view of the city that they once captured. Having in mind information related to the memory of the city that these photographic images way comunicate, we considerer the possibility of analysing the imagery construction of Porto Alegre in the first two decades of the twentieth century present in the several facet of its quotidianoThe rrelevance of this research resid in developing an approach to this quotidian through photography, considering both as interdisciplinary object, understood a historical- antropological perspective in order to establish its possibilities and limits. To achieve this objetive we aim to study Virgílio Calegari s "view" of the city of Porto Alegre, percieve the daily imaginary in the imagery construction of this photographic prodution
