RESUMO

This work is a masters degree dissertation, linked to research interest number four education and arts of the post graduate program in education by federal university in santa maria, it intended, from three teachers story life of landless workers movement, to contribute with the visual arts teaching process. For this, the research sought to understand about life story as a way to contextualize the participants of the report through the dialectical materialism theoretical approach. The report was building by biographical interview. In this process the participants were chalenged to tell about their lives trhough a narration, as well as about their political activism and teaching formation, also their insertion in the visual arts teaching process. All of the three participants life stories show the landless workers worry with the training of leaders in relation to the specific formation, in this case, the teachers formation, associated with political activism, aiming a transformation in society. This kind of formation showed a teaching practice that suggests to resize the meanings of everyday life objects, like the tent, the tools, the seeds and the soil, using each of these elements as a symbol with great aesthetic potential, and also to show the necessity of a superior theorectical formation about the production of the images, a fact that is also resposabilty of the universities through its cooperation.
