RESUMO

This dissertation has as objective to verify how is the alignment of the usual Technical Competences Management in the Electric and Instrumentation area in a big refinery of oil with the Technical Competences Model constructed by the author to be applied in the Industrial Maintenance. Such Model grows of importance to the measure that if demand of the Function Maintenance an increase of productivity and reliability, indispensable requirements in the current competitive enterprise reality. For the construction of this Model, the theoretical references in the Competences Management and the Knowledge Management, that it came to culminate in a Model that if bases on the continuous interaction between the organizational and individual competences, lined up to the strategy, in a learning process, taking to an improvement of the Technical Competences of the organization and its employees. The Electric and Instrumentation area was chosen in function of the continuous technological change that is submitted, as well as for its importance for the operational continuity and product quality, representing the current demands of the Function Maintenance. For the verification of the applicability of the Model and the alignment of the Management in practical, the method of field research was used, by means of application of questionnaire based on the attributes established for its dimensions of the Model. The gotten result is that the Model is applicable to the Industrial Maintenance and the analysis of the alignment of the management in practical took the identification of some improvements, with prominence in the necessity of bigger qualifica tion in Competences Management of the managers in the studied area.
