RESUMO

In this dissertation, I analyze compositions elected by the Comissão Permanente para os Vestibulares Unicamp (Comvest) (Permanent Commission for Unicamp Entrance Exams) as the best of this college entrance exam in order to discuss if the adjust to the discourse genre and the individual style of writing favour the good evaluation of these compositions. Unicamp college entrance exam contemplates in its proposals of compositions three genres: dissertation, letter and narrative. Considering the contingences of realization of this research, only the first two genres are analyzed, since they are similar for their argumentative character. According to the Bakhtinean conception adopted (BAKHTIN, [1952-1953]), the analysis of the discoursive genre must consider its four elements ? thematic content, compositional structure, style and tone ? in their indissoluble relations and necessarily understand the dialogic relations the genre maintains with the enunciations to which it is related to. The examination of the texts pointed out notable homogeneity between the compositions selected by Comvest, which is explained by two factors: obedience to the examination proposals, which indicates how the theme should be approached, and most candidates? choice for a traditional compositional structure. Both the adequate obedience to the proposals of thematic treatment and good accomplishment to compositional structure indicate understanding of the genre, what surely contributes to the positive evaluation of the candidates. In spite of the dominant homogeneity, it was still possible to find in some texts features that can be taken as clues of individual style (according to clue-paradigm of investigation GINZBURG, 1986, ABAURRE; FIAD; MAYRINK-SABISON, 1997). Although the elements of the genre are indissoluble and, in this way, the singularity of the text goes through all the aspects of the genre, it is noticed individuality of the writer to be more evident in the singular treatment of the theme, in the dissertations, and in the volitive tone covering the texts, in the letters. Since the individual style is not explicitly judged in the evaluation of the compositions, it is difficult to know how it can influence the texts grading. Considering, nevertheless, that in accordance with the Bakhtinean position, the subject is so much able to impose his individual mark to the text the more he dominates the discoursive genre in which he writes, it is possible to suppose that texts that manifest more clearly style clues accomplish sufficiently well the basic demands of the genre, what probably makes possible their good evaluation in the college entrance exam.Key words: Discoursive genre, style, writing, Bakhtin
