RESUMO

Currently the land is losing species much more quickly than it was some decades ago, and the human being is the main causer of this extinguishing. Biodiversity is in the basis of all survival human being, therefore it is indispensable to keep the evolution processes of the alive world acting in the regulation of the great physico-chemical equilibrium of the biosphere, beyond supplying to alimentary products and raw material. The knowledge concerning the changes of ecosystems due to the diferent standards of land use is basic for the development of sustainability strategies of the agro-systems and it allows the establishment of norms based on ecological information which will be able to greatly increase the conservation of biodiversity. But the great problem faced by researchers for the evaluation of impacts caused by man is in the complexity of the ambient systems aggravated by lack of knowledge and scarcity of research. This ecological complexity can not only be treated and be analyzed by mathematical tools that do not work with subjectivity, because the models created for other more simplied systems do not adjust or supply few subsidies to analyse the human or biological systems, when the subjective knowledge is relevant. A new methodology created by Zadeh, the Theory of the Fuzzy Sets, allows to deal with complex systems and the subjectivity inherent to them, through linguistic variables and fuzzy algorithms which incorporate the human vision, fruit of its perceptions. Through the application generated for the Fuzzy rules-based system (FRBS), a comparative study between natural systems and systems which suffered the human being influence was made, using as indicator of the tropical forests conservation the beetles of the Scarabaeidae family (dung beetle) due to its sensitivity to ambient changes and abundance. This is another tool that, together with other technologies, may assist to understand how forest species react to the anthropic pressure and which ecosystems are less corrupted by the used agricultural technologies by man.
